I spent part of this afternoon with Bob Johnston’s MA Landscape students. We asked the field survey groups from last week to display examples of their record photographs taken at Longshaw. We asked them to choose a good example and a bad example and to critique them, then invited the rest of the class to share any thoughts about the examples.
Hopefully this was a useful session in photographic criticism that will enable the MA students to think about how to take record shots of landscape features.
The session will also feed into the next mini-assignment which will be to evoke a sense of place through photography.
